What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler used to fill in deep facial folds and add definition to areas of the face like the cheeks and jawline. Juvéderm Ultra XC

Ultra XC injectable gel is used to treat nasolabial folds (also called smile lines or laugh lines) that extend from the corners of the mouth to the sides of the nose. Juvéderm Ultra XC is also used to smooth other deep wrinkles around the mouth and can be used to augment the lips.

Juvéderm Vollure

Juvéderm Vollure can be injected into a variety of areas around the cheeks, lips, and nose to smooth nasolabial folds, chin wrinkles, and other moderate to severe facial wrinkles.

Juvéderm Volbella has a thin consistency that works best for delicate facial tissue. This injectable gel treatment is primarily used for lip augmentation and improvement of tear troughs or under-eye hollows.

Who is a Candidate for Juvéderm?

One of the main benefits of Juvéderm is that it is made from natural hyaluronic acid so the risk of severe allergic reactions or other side effects is significantly lowered. Almost anyone who wants to treat age-related volume loss and other signs of aging is a candidate for Juvéderm. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, currently taking blood tissues, have excessive scarring, or have significant loose skin may need to wait or avoid dermal fillers.

Juvéderm Treatment

Juvéderm facial injection procedures are quick and minimally painful. Most patients tolerate their injections well but we can apply a topical numbing cream at the start of treatment to keep you comfortable. Juvéderm treatment only takes 30 minutes or less, depending on how many injections you receive, making this the perfect lunchtime treatment for busy patients.

Recovery From Juvéderm

Juvéderm requires virtually no recovery. For the first 1-2 days after your injections, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity and sun exposure since mild swelling and bruising may occur around the injection site. These side effects will resolve on their own within a few days and can be alleviated with ice packs and over-the-counter pain medication.

How Long Will Results Last After Juvéderm Treatment?

Complete Juvéderm results can take about two weeks to develop as the filler settlers. On average, Juvéderm lasts 12-18 months but areas like the lips may need to be maintained with more frequent maintenance appointments.
