What are GLP-1s?
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medications work by releasing the GLP-1 hormone in the body. This controls your blood sugar, slows digestion, suppresses your appetite, and makes you feel fuller longer, facilitating weight loss.
Before starting GLP-1 medications, especially if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or other health conditions, consult with your doctor.
Originally designed to treat diabetes, these medications have now been approved for weight loss and weight management as well.
What are GIP Receptor Agonists?
GLP receptor agonists are a class of drugs that can help treat type 2 diabetes and obesity by working with the hormones responsible for your hunger. They increase insulin production and slow digestion. They also lower blood sugar and make you feel fuller longer while also suppressing your appetite.
About Zepbound
At Thrive Wellness and Aesthetics, we’re proud to offer Zepbound, one of the most advanced GLP-1 weight loss treatments available today. Zepbound (tirzepatide) is an injectable medication designed to help patients achieve meaningful, sustainable weight loss by targeting multiple pathways that regulate appetite and metabolism.
Zepbound works by mimicking two natural hormones (GLP-1 and GIP) that help control blood sugar levels and reduce hunger. This dual-action approach addresses biological factors that contribute to obesity, helping people lose weight more effectively. Many people using Zepbound experience reduced food cravings, increased fullness after meals, and steady weight loss over time.
Our experienced providers at Thrive Wellness and Aesthetics take a personalized approach to every Zepbound treatment plan. Before starting, we conduct a thorough consultation to assess your health, lifestyle, and goals. We then create a tailored program that includes nutritional guidance, lifestyle support, and ongoing monitoring to help you stay on track and maximize results.
If you’re ready to experience a clinically proven, science-backed approach to weight management, Zepbound may be the right choice for you.

Our weight loss management program is appropriate for anyone looking to lose weight, but there are some criteria for who the medications are best for. Excess weight increases the risk of various health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. If you have a BMI of over 30 or a BMI of 27 or higher and one weight-related health condition, you are likely a perfect candidate for treatment. When determining candidacy, factors such as medical history, lifestyle, and genetics are considered.
We also recommend that patients have realistic expectations and be nonsmokers. To determine if you’re a good candidate for Weight Loss Management, schedule a consultation with a healthcare provider.

Support Services for Weight Loss
Losing weight is often easier with a strong support system. Support services, such as counseling and behavior modification programs, can help you stay focused and motivated throughout your weight loss journey.
Family members and friends can also play a crucial role by offering encouragement and accountability. Additionally, joining a weight loss support group or online community can connect you with others who share similar goals and experiences, providing a sense of camaraderie and shared motivation. Remember, you don’t have to go through this journey alone, and support is available every step of the way.
What to Expect from Weight Loss Management at Thrive Wellness & Aesthetics
Our weight loss management program begins with an initial consultation where we will run a BMI and weight analysis. The program is structured in two phases: an initial weight loss phase followed by a maintenance phase to help you sustain your results. We’ll also take your vitals and look at your most recent lab work. As you begin the program, your body adjusts to new eating habits and medication, which may include temporary digestive changes. If you qualify as a good candidate, we’ll prescribe medications and provide diet and fitness recommendations, including guidance on portion sizes and what to eat for optimal results. We’ll also show you how to inject the medication so you know what to do when you return home.

Follow-up appointments will include weigh-ins, monitoring of BMI and vitals, and a review of food intake and exercise. Many patients require ongoing support to maintain weight loss after they have lost weight. Any adjustments to medications will also be made at this time.
As for results, you will likely see some changes 8-12 weeks into treatment, with full improvements within a year. Patients can look forward to seeing a 10-15% reduction in their body weight.
